Welcome to the DualTone theme demo site, a WordPress theme based on user patterns—for creators.

The DualTone theme has been designed for all type of users:

  • Writers or ‘content’ creators
  • Web designers: ‘pattern’ or ‘theme’ creators
  • Web developers or ‘code’ creators

You may have one, two or all of the above roles. And, whatever your level of knowledge and expertise is, you will enjoy the DualTone theme and feel completely at home when using it.

My name is David and I’m the DualTone theme writer, designer and developer. To know more about the DualTone theme, you may start by reading the following pages:

  • Typography: Font sizes, headings, paragraphs usage, lists, quotes, etc.
  • Colors: Initially, two styles have been added, a bright one and a dark one.
  • Spacings: 8 spacings that let you control margins, paddings and block spacings. Apart from the spacer block.
  • Layouts: Two column layout with a sticky sidebar on the left and some additional layouts.
  • Patterns: You will learn how to turn theme patterns into your own content (user patterns).
  • Styles: Block custom style variations.
  • Tools: Find about the theme settings page and some perfect companion plugins for you to use along with the DualTone theme.

Once you are familiar with the DualTones’ features, you may want to explore some more demo content, written as blog entries.

First time WordPress user?

If you are a first time WordPress user, you may want to follow this easy steps to get your blog ready to publish:

  • Activate your theme
  • Set the title and tagline of your blog
  • Import the demo content in a WordPress clean installation (it’s ok if the initial installation content is still there)
  • Read the demo pages and posts so you have some understanding of the design & publishing features that you have available
  • Select a style that you like or go ahead and customize your color palette
  • Set your site logo and site icon
  • Customize some theme content like the footer credits paragraph

And then, … when you are ready, trash all the demo content that you do not need and start blogging!
